Whatever disaster zone you live in, and we all live in one, one way or another, this one point applies. Seeing everyone so worried about missing people in Colorado this week, I decided to put together my own sort of PSA Informercial thingie. Please just do what it says. It’s crazy easy. Then share with your family and friends and everyone you know, or just email them or call them and tell them to do it.
Such a simple thing, but just think how stressful it would be for you and your friends and family if you were stuck somewhere in the midst of a (insert disaster here) and you couldn’t call to tell them you’re ok, or where specifically you are because… YOU DON’T KNOW THEIR PHONE NUMBERS ANYMORE!
Cell phones have taken away the necessity of having to memorize phone numbers, so if you’re phone’s dead – or lost – and you’re not next to a phone book (if you even still have a phone book) you very likely won’t be able to remember much more than an area code of the people who are praying you’re OK.
Please do it! And share, to save some people some grief in a tough time.
